Gembrook Hill Estate Pinot Noir 2018
Beautiful semi-translucent red colour. Violet, red cherry and strawberry scents intermix with forest floor, spicy cedar and fresh herb notes. The 2018 vintage was a tale of 2 seasons with humid conditions during the growing period followed by exceptionally dry conditions. The wine shows more up front fruit with a lovely tannin structure with a long delicious finish.
It presents in its signature transparent way but the complexity is all there and so too is the length. this is an excellent wine. undergrowth and cranberries, sweet herbs and woodsmoke, ripe cherry and a sourness about the edges. they could trademark this style; they turn it out each year as if its easy. a turn of tannin leads you out through the finish. its a garden of a wine, well tended, brimming with good health.95Wine Front
