Pierre Gaillard Saint Joseph Blanc 2016

Gaillard’s Saint-Joseph Blanc is an atypical example in that it is made entirely from Roussanne. The grapes are drawn from several, low yielding sites sited in the far north of the appellation: the cool granite plateau of Malleval at Les Dries, the slopes of Malleval at Chartres, and from Les Vessettes in Chavanay, each cropped at low yield. The wine spends seven months in seasoned Allier and Nevers barrels, with some bâtonnage.

Don't miss Gaillard's Roussanne St-Joseph white: pure, fleshy white peach and apricot.
